WCS Education has your summer covered with fun, educational camp experiences! We provide unforgettable experiences for your camper including age-appropriate, hands-on activities, up-close animal experiences, time to explore the park and tons of educational fun that builds on campers' innate love for our wild planet.

Queens Zoo Summer Camp

Queens Zoo is WILD about summer camp! Campers will explore the zoo and learn about our animals like never before! WCS Education has your summer covered with fun, educational camp experiences! We provide unforgettable experiences for your camper including age-appropriate, hands-on activities, up-close animal experiences, time to explore the park and tons of educational fun that builds on campers' innate love for our wild planet.

Scroll down for our camp schedule and descriptions! Camp runs from 9:00am - 3:00pm * Monday - Friday each week unless, except where noted for Toddler Time (9:30am - 11:00am) and Zoo Tykes (9:00am - 12:00pm).

18 months - 3 years old with caregiver

Toddler Time: Colorful Critters

Look around! What do you see? Brown bears, red birds, and green leafy trees! Nature's palette is full of patterns and colorful critters. Join us with your toddler as we discover the colors of the natural world through up-close animal encounters, hands-on art experiences, and natural play in the zoo during this week-long camp.


One ticket includes an adult and a child. Camper must be 18 months - 3 years old at the time of the program.

Toddler Time: Animal MOO-ves

Flap, slither, and hop! Join us for an engaging week-long camp that will get you and your toddler up and moving. Together, we will explore how animals navigate their homes, communicate through motion, and rock to the beat of nature! Each session will include up-close animal encounters, Zoo exploration, and hands-on science investigations.

3K - Pre Kindergarten

Zoo Tykes: Summer Zoo-cation

Is your child ready for all the fun of zoo camp but not ready for a full day camp experience? Your 3 and 4 year old can join us for a half day camp program at the zoo.

Pack your bags for an unforgettable Summer ZOO-cation — no passport required! Join Chami the Chameleon puppet on a global adventure as we discover habitats around the world. During this week, we will conduct hands-on exploration in nature, observe wildlife through up-close encounters, and work as a team to explore wild places far and wide.

This drop off camp is designed for children entering 3K and Pre-K in the fall in the fall of 2024. Campers must be 3 or 4 years old on or before their first day of camp. Price is per week. Sign up for two different Zoo Tykes camps!

3K - Pre Kindergarten

Zoo Tykes: Animal Tales

Is your child ready for all the fun of zoo camp but not ready for a full day camp experience? Your 3 and 4 year old can join us for a half day camp program at the zoo.

Time to let your imagination run wild with wildlife as we meet the animal inspiration behind classic children’s tales. Each day we will highlight a different story and discover that every living thing plays an important role in nature through up-close animal encounters, dramatic play, hands-on art experiences, and outdoor exploration.

This drop off camp is designed for children entering 3K and Pre-K in the fall in the fall of 2024. Campers must be 3 or 4 years old on or before their first day of camp. Price is per week. Sign up for two different Zoo Tykes camps!

Entering Kindergarten - 2nd Grade

Week of Wildlife: Where the Weird Things Are

Schools out? Zoo camp's in session! Join us at the Queens Zoo for an unforgettable summer as we get wild for wildlife. Our week-long camp experiences are filled with hands-on activities, animal encounters, and nature exploration.Spiders, snakes, and bats, oh my! Many creepy crawly animals are disliked, but they have fantastically weird ways of surviving in their natural environments! Through strange and fascinating hands-on experiments, up-close animal encounters, and zoo exploration, we'll investigate the weird, wonderful natural world.

This drop off camp is for children ages 5-7 years old entering K, 1st or 2nd grade in the fall of 2024.

Entering Kindergarten - 2nd Grade

Week of Wildlife: Wildlife Avengers

Schools out? Zoo camp's in session! Join us at the Queens Zoo for an unforgettable summer as we get wild for wildlife. Our week-long camp experiences are filled with hands-on activities, animal encounters, and nature exploration.Calling all superheroes! Join us at Wildlife Avengers HQ as we work together to develop solutions to puzzling conservation challenges. Through exploration in nature, up-close animal encounters, and scientific experiments, we will discover the importance of maintaining balanced ecosystems and learn ways we all can be heroes for wildlife.

This drop off camp is for children ages 5-7 years old entering K, 1st or 2nd grade in the fall of 2024.

3rd - 5th Grade

Zoo Explorers: Animal Zoo-lympics

Faster, higher, stronger! Animals all over the world are capable of incredible feats of athleticism, from the back-breaking speed of a puma to the aerial acrobatics of a bald eagle. Through adrenaline inducing games, exhilarating animal encounters, and thrilling natural exploration we'll learn why athletes try to be as strong as an ox or nimble as a fox.

Price is per week. Sign up for two different camps! This camp is for children entering 3rd, 4th, or 5th grade in the fall of 2024.

3rd - 5th Grade

Zoo Explorers: The Zoo Factor

Join us as we embark on a thrilling adventure into the wild world of zookeeping! Survival isn't just about strength—it's strategy, problem-solving, and teamwork. Get set for a week packed with challenges mirroring the trials of running a zoo. Join us as we learn about animals and the natural world through complex challenges, riveting games, and exciting animal encounters. Do you have the Zoo Factor?

Junior Scientists: Global Conservationists

Schools out? Zoo camps in session! Join us at the Queens Zoo for an unforgettable summer as we get wild for wildlife. Our week-long camp experiences are filled with hands-on activities, animal encounters, and nature exploration.As the climate changes, it’s important to look for different ways to help animals, ourselves, and our planet. In this camp we will engineer and invent new solutions to address conservation issues. From making paper to developing wildlife corridors, join us as we explore creative, nature-based solutions to the climate crisis.

Campers must be ages 11-13 years entering 6th, 7th, or 8th grade in the fall of 2024.

Extended Care

We now offer Extended Care from 3:00pm to 5:00pm. Extended Care includes free play, exhibit visits, and nature play exploration. Add-on items such as Extended Care and additional camp t-shirts can be purchased once you add a week of camp to your shopping cart.
