How to Start the Find Dribbles the Clown quest with Lucretious

You start Act 3 in Rivington, more specifically in the south of Rivington. Follow the dusty path northwest, and you’ll pass the Circle of The Last Days which will be to your west. Speak to Klaus, and after some dialogue, Benji will smell you to see if you’re free to enter the circus. It appears that Benji isn’t too fond of your “aroma”, and Klaus will tell you to move along. This will lead you to a choice where almost all of them allow you to enter. If you want to save some gold, choose one of the answers that require a check. Regardless of the choice you make, Klaus will open the gate for you.

Enter the circus, and head around the stalls to the northeast corner. As you pass the various stalls, you’ll walk past the Djinn’s stall which has a game where you can spin the wheel to win the jackpot. This can lead to a legendary weapon, but you’ll need to do a few things first to get it. Visit our Spin the Wheel page to find out more. A couple of stalls later, you can tamper with the padlock on “Shadow-Whiskers” cage and talk to “Crimson” (animal-speaking potion) to keep them in their cages in an encounter that will happen in the near future.

Head to Dribbles’ stage first which will end in an encounter. (left), Then speak to Lucretious after the battle to start the quest. (right)

Continue heading northeast and approach the stage for a scene. A lot of the choices appear to be flavor text until he asks which one of your party wants to be a volunteer for his act. This choice only matters whether that person starts on the stage in the following encounter with him and his dog. It’s probably best to place either your highest AC character or the one with the highest initiative, although some scenes can be quite humorous depending on the party member.

The encounter itself is relatively easy provided you can keep Shadow-Whiskers and Crimson in their cages. If you don’t tamper with the padlock for the former and feed the latter, the enemies will open their cages which makes the battle a lot more difficult. The main threat of this encounter is Dribbles the Clown as it has some hard-hitting attacks, some of which can make you prone, so Dribbles should be your priority. Once Dribbles is dealt with, you can focus on the other enemies who will morph into doppelgangers.

You will soon find out that Dribbles is a doppelganger and you’ll have to fight him.

Once the battle is complete, loot the bodies where you can get the Clown Hammer from Dribbles/Fumm as well as a letter from the tribunal. Head west, and speak to Lucretious who’ll offer you a substantial reward for finding the real Dribbles the Clown, even if he is likely dead by now. This will give you the “Find Dribbles the Clown” quest. Now comes the fun part.

Where to Find Dribbles the Clown Body Parts

There are seven parts of Dribbles to find which are a head, torso, foot, leg, hand, arm, and pelvis and all of them will be scattered throughout the Lower City and its surrounding areas as you try to “piece” the puzzle together. We will list each body part based on its location nearest to the circus.

(10) to get the nearby items to show up, and you’ll see the severed hand on the table. Pick up the severed hand, and Popper will demand you give it back to him. Here, you’ll have a few choices you can make. You can either Persuade, Deceive, or Intimidate Popper, or pay his fee which is a massive 10,000 Gold. Then you have the option to fight/kill him, but this will be against other circus staff as well, or you can give it back to him. The easiest method is to sneak and use an invisible spell then steal it, or use one of the various checks.

Exit the circus and make your way to the Open Hand temple which is adjacent to it. Head inside, and head to the kitchen which is situated in the western part of the temple. Enter the hatch and follow the blood trail into an altar room then find the buttons to open the secret door in the east side of the room which will lead to a cave. This cave is filled with doppelgangers and bandits, and you may get into a couple of encounters. Continue following the blood trail to the northeast end of the cave (near the crane), you’ll find Penela Lumpensicks corpse on the floor at coordinates (X: 64, Y: -1028). Now you need to progress the story a bit until you reach the Lower City. There are various ways to get there, but following the Investigate the Murders Walkthrough in Baldur’s Gate 3 quest is the most linear way. When you get to the Lower City, you’ll be near the Basilisk Gate waypoint. Head north up the alley next to the gate where you can find some double doors you can pick at coordinates (X: 123, Y: 1). This is a DC15 Dexterity check, so use your highest DEX character to open it. Inside the room, you’ll see poor Gohumberry Tresp’s body on the floor. Interact with the body to find Dribble’s severed pelvis.

Dribbles The Clown’s Severed Arm Location

This body part can be found in a Peartree’s house which has its entrance boarded up, and a sign outside saying “under investigation”. You can find this house at coordinates (X: 35; Y: -93) which is situated next to the east side of Sorcerous Sundries (center of the map). Attack the barricade with a melee attack to reveal the entrance, and head through the door.

When you enter the room, you’ll see Peartree’s lifeless corpse on the floor with a Traveler’s Chest right next to him. Pull the chest to the side to unveil a hatch that’ll require lock picking (DC15), or using Peartree’s Hatch Key which can be found in the bookshelf next to his bed. Another basement, another murder scene. Investigate Courageous Little Kimmabeth’s large body to find Dribbles severed arms.

Now, head west again to find Lavernica’s House at coordinates (X: -80; Y: -72) and pick the locks of this door (DC15) to find another murder site. In the corner of the house is a hatch that needs to be lock picked (DC10), and down here you’ll find a ritual circle at the back of the basement where you’ll find the corpse of Incontinentia Figgin was used as the centerpiece. Teleport back to the Lower City Wall waypoint and make your way to Rainforest’s House at coordinates (X: -95; Y: -111). Now head down the alley to the left of the house (if you’re looking at the front door) and you’ll find a broken balcony. Jump up to it (may require a jump enhancing spell/scroll/potion) and head through the unlocked door. Head down the stairs and enter the hatch to the basement which is underneath the stairs you just walked down. Once again, you’ll see a grotesque ritual site and a couple of bodies. One of these bodies, Winslow to be precise, will have Dribbles severed foot. Note: There are traps down here, so proceed carefully.

Dribbles the Clown Severed Head Location

Finally, the last piece of the puzzle is Dribble’s severed head. If you progress the main story, you’ll eventually end up here. What you want to do is end up at the Undercity Ruins waypoint in the sewers. There are numerous ways to reach the sewers, but the quickest way is to use the manhole cover in the south of Bloomridge Park. Once you’ve reached the sewers, you want to head to the far north to unlock the waypoint. In front of the waypoint is a ritual circle, and next to that, a locked door. If you interact with the door, you’ll need to prove yourself for it to enter, but if you shoot the hanging body above the ritual circle, blood will trickle down into it and open the door.

This next room has one hell of an encounter if you’re not aligned with Orrin, and we wouldn’t recommend tackling this battle just yet, especially on the harder difficulties. However, you can use sneak and invisible, but you’ll need to rely on RNG for that, so make sure you make a quick save before trying. Whatever you choose to do, you’ll need to head to the bottom of the stairs, then go across the fallen pillar then go through the door at the end. In this room is a metal door which leads to the temple of Baal. This room is surprisingly quiet (or a bug?), but after the last room, we’ll take it.
