Arkansas baseball transfer portal tracker: Who is joining, leaving the Razorbacks (2024)

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — Arkansas baseball wasted no time this offseason shifting its outlook to 2025.

Just five days after being eliminated by SEMO in the Fayetteville Regional, the Razorbacks dipped into the transfer portal for their first addition, welcoming a familiar name to Fayetteville for next spring.

The portal opened on June 3, and the deadline for athletes to enter is July 2. There is also a 30-day Transfer Window available for athletes immediately following their coach being fired or leaving to take another job.

Arkansas is coming off a 44-16 season that resulted in an SEC West title, but the Hogs were upset in a home regional for the second straight year. Last offseason, Arkansas landed a handful of key pickups like Wehiwa Aloy and Hudson White through the portal.

Here's a look at who is coming and who is going for the Razorbacks this summer.

Players transferring to Arkansas baseball

Rocco Peppi, Fresno State

Peppi committed to Arkansas on June 25 and immediately becomes the biggest power addition out of the portal. Peppi hit 14 home runs and 16 doubles for the Bulldogs in 2024, posting a .327 batting average and a .602 slugging percentage. Pepi only drew seven walks all season while showing defensive versatility with starts across all three outfield positions.

Landon Beidelschies, Ohio State

Beidelschies became the first pitcher out of the portal to join the Hogs on June 24. The Buckeyes' Friday starter in 2024 went 6-7 with a 4.15 ERA. He struck out 91 and walked just 31 batters in 84⅔ innings while holding opponents to a .231 batting average. Beidelschies should compete for a spot in the weekend rotation at Arkansas.

Logan Maxwell, TCU

Maxwell represents the third outfield addition of the offseason, with all three starters from this spring projected to depart either through graduation or the MLB Draft. The rising senior is coming off his best season with the Horned Frogs, hitting .335 with 30 runs and 25 RBIs. He drew 30 walks and registered 23 strikeouts, racking up an on-base percentage of .482.

Maximus Martin, Georgia State

Martin brings some versatility to the Razorbacks, starting 12 games in center field before becoming a full-time shortstop in 2024 with Georgia State. The rising junior hit .297 with three home runs and 21 RBIs. Martin also logged 12 doubles, two triples and six steals this spring. Martin began his career at Rutgers, and the New Jersey native will join Wehiwa Aloy and Nolan Souza as potential starters in the infield next season.

Carson Hansen, Milwaukee

Hansen is a rising junior who primarily hit cleanup and played right field for the Panthers. In 2024, he posted a .315 batting average to go with 11 home runs and 63 RBIs. The lefty finished seventh in the country with 25 doubles. Hansen was named to the Horizon All-League First Team for the season and was a three-time Horizon League Batter of the Week selection, becoming just the second player in the history of the conference to earn three consecutive weekly honors.

Charles Davalan, FGCU

Davalan is a rising sophom*ore from Canada who is eligible for the 2025 MLB Draft due to his age. He slashed .288/.413/.514 with 10 home runs and 13 stolen bases in 2024. Davalan spent most of his time in right field and hitting leadoff for the Eagles, but he's also capable of playing infield. He was a member of the Atlantic Sun Conference All-Freshman team.

Kuhio Aloy, BYU

The younger brother of Arkansas shortstop Wehiwa Aloy, Kuhio became the first portal addition for Arkansas this offseason when he committed to the Razorbacks on June 7. Kuhio is an infielder who primarily served as BYU's designated hitter in 2024. He was a member of the Big 12 All-Freshman Team and led the Cougars with 38 RBIs on the season. Kuhio hit .269 with eight home runs and got off to a blistering start in his collegiate career before struggling down the stretch.

Players entering the portal from Arkansas baseball

Jayson Jones

Jones never quite lived up to some lofty expectations as a high school recruit. Perfect Game ranked the shortstop-turned-outfielder as the No. 5 overall prospect in the class of 2022, but Jones hit .195 with six home runs across two seasons in Fayetteville. His playing time vanished during the 2024 SEC slate, but Jones possesses tremendous upside at the plate.

Hunter Grimes

Grimes is a redshirt senior with one year of eligibility remaining. After playing in 19 games during the 2023 campaign, Grimes did not record an at-bat this spring. The outfielder slashed.185/.368/.148 (5-for-27) with seven RBIs and a triple last year. His best moment in a Razorback uniform was an outfield assist against Texas A&M that preserved a 5-5 tie in the top of the eighth, with Arkansas eventually winning the game.
